I have recently installed an oil fired system in my own house after much research regarding boilers. After looking at French boilers I eventually turned to the UK. I found a company called Thermsaver in Glasgow (Ask for Dave). They do many boilers and one particular group are suitable for 35 sec oil. They have a conventional flue and can be supplied with or without a programmer. They use a Bentone pressure jet which is renown for it's reliability, ease of service and quietness. I needed about 19 kwts so chose a 70/90 without programmer. All these boilers using 35 sec oil MUST have a conventional flue. I am in the States at the moment and can't get to my paperwork but I seem to remember that my boiler cost around £870 complete and with two wireless programmer thermostats cost about £950 inc 15% VAT including FREE delivery to anywhere on the UK mainland. I collected mine in the back of a Mondeo Estate from my cousin's house. If you can arrange delivery to France I can strongly recommend them. I finished my system in Sept and have run it for several hours at a time (due to the great summer we have had) and it works a treat. Can't wait to get back home to sit round a warm rad in France - much better than playing golf here in Florida. Incidentally, I have no association with this company other than to be entirely satisfied with their service. Google Thermsaver, download their Installation Manual and see what you need. Robert, or to give him his correct name – Thermaflow TH12/330U, is an innovative electric combination boiler that sits in the corner of Kevin bungalow in Hardwick, Bucks and provides all the heat and hot water his four bed-roomed home can handle; at a fraction of the cost of the electric under-floor heating system he had relied on for years. In his opinion, Thermaflow electric combi boilers are the best bet for rural dwellers like him who are looking for reliable, efficient and eco-friendly heating. The invention of Glasgow company, Thermal Innovations (UK) Limited, the Thermaflow range consists of sixteen stainless steel unvented high efficiency electric combination boilers designed to provide central heating and hot water in a single, energy-efficient package. According to Thermal Innovations, the boilers achieve 99% efficiency, thanks to their unvented design and the imaginative use of a compact, brazed heat exchanger from Alfa Laval to rapidly heat cold water when hot water is being drawn off, this minimising heat loss. “Robert”, the Thermaflow TH12/330U, that warms Kevin bungalow, is the largest model in the range. With a capacity of 300 litres, it runs 10 radiators and 2 towel rails as well as providing lashings of hot water for bathing, washing and still has plenty of power to spare. Like all of the models in the range, it heats the system up rapidly, providing hot water at the taps in under five seconds end enabling the radiators to achieve maximum temperature within 3 minutes. The integration of a stainless steel internal pre-heat heat exchanger along with the Alfa Laval brazed plate heat exchanger provides mains pressure hot water at high flow rates.

"I had a back boiler gas heating and hot water system which was not up to the job - especially for our Scottish winters - I had to have the gas fire on as well as the heating and when I had a shower upstairs if anyone turned on a hot tap downstairs the hot water went off completely.
... to replace the old back boiler with a combi Thermaflow system and replace the old radiators. Now, even on the coldest days, the gas fire is idle and I have all the hot water I need and can shower without the fear that the water will suddenly go cold. The new radiators are half the size of the old ones yet put out more heat.

"As you are aware we installed a Heat Recovery Ventilation System in our Nethan Valley Home over 7 years ago, (1991). Since then the system has worked continuously extracting from our kitchens and bathrooms while introducing fresh pre-warmed air into the living and bedroom areas. We lived with this clean fresh environment within our home until an electrical problem recently stopped the system from running, (1998). At this time we realised the full benefits of the system because the house started to show signs of condensation and stuffy smells. .......

"This is a question posed daily to a dentist. He may be faced with a tooth that is broken down and beyond repair. In many cases the only option is to extract!
I was posed with this question in a slightly different context when setting up my own dental practice in Carmyle, Glasgow.
My objective was to produce a pleasant working environment for myself; after all I have to spend a large proportion of my time there. The staff also appreciate pleasant working conditions, as do patients.
A ventilation system of some sort seemed the obvious answer. Investigation showed a range in prices and capabilities from ventilation of a single room such as a toilet, to whole house ventilation.
The option of heat recovery ventilation with an element of air-conditioning became a possibility. A visit to the Homebuilding and Renovation Exhibition in Ingliston and discussion with Rega and their agents Thermsaver helped me make the decision.
The dental surgery is a harsh environment to work in. It becomes hot and stuffy as patients come and go. The high speed drill produces a contaminated aerosol into the atmosphere. The sterilizer produces heat and steam. We mix amalgam and use harsh disinfectants. These factors, together with working behind a mask and goggles, can make the day like working in London smog! The windows run with condensation and we become hot and bothered. In the summer conditions are worsened by the increase in temperature outside.
My heat recovery ventilation system with air conditioning, designed by Thermsaver to my specifications, keeps the surgery environment constant and provides continual clean air whilst removing nasties from the environment. Heat is extracted from the extract air and used to heat clean fresh air. The system can be controlled such that when a certain temperature is reached the air-con kicks in and provides some extra cooling.
Patients have already commented on the pleasant environment.
The Dentist smell has gone!!!!

"We had to write and tell you how delighted we are with the recovery ventilation system recently installed by your company.
Since moving into our semi-bungalow we have been plagued with condensation problems, walls, furniture and clothing suffering from mildew. The black mould and musty smell disappeared almost immediately after the installation of the system.
As you are aware we were concerned about possible noise level of the system, this has proved not to be a problem.

GH - Honeywell CM67 wireless programmable thermostat
"Just a quick note to say thanks for your excellent service. I ordered a Honeywell CM67 from you last Saturday by telephone and it was with me first thing on Tuesday morning. I've installed it and it works a treat. .......
....the walls are "substantial" and running wiring through them is a real pain. The chap who did the conversion put the original thermostat in the dining room, which is at mid level between the upstairs and downstairs, has a vaulted ceiling and has the kitchen and utility room at one end. As a result heat from cooking and the boiler keeps it warm, plus heat rises into it from the lounge below. It is always warm, whereas the lounge is still cold as it is lower. Obviously he didn't quite understand the principle of heat rising and not to put a thermostat in the same, (albeit very big), room as the cooker!
....The CM67 is now on the wall of the living room and as we have TRVs all round, the dining room does not overheat as the valves just shut of the flow, but the living room is nice and cosy for the first time. The RF technology seems to work fine even though it has to go through a couple of thick walls, one of which is nearly 2 feet thick and about 140 years old.......
