Thermsave DRF4 Digital Wireless Programmable Room Thermostat

I bought mine to replace a 2 year old unit from another manufacturer that had failed for the 2nd time in 3 years. This time it wasn't under warranty Grrr! But enough about that old rubbish, let's talk about THIS one!

It's quick and easy to fit and, because it's programmable, it can be set for different temperatures at different times of day. This means the original system's heating timer is more or less redundant because this beastie takes over from it. I have my original heating timer set on "constant" and let this beauty do the work.

i set a minimum overnight temperature that prevents the house falling below 17 degrees, which puts paid to chilly rooms in the morning, and means the heating doesn't have to work so hard to get back to a comfortable temperature once you're up and about.

It's initially a little confusing to program, mainly cos the supplied instructions appear to have been translated to English via several other languages first, but once you get the idea, it's easy peasy lemon squeezy!

OH... And top marks to Thermsaver themselves who supplied this very quickly while half the country was stopped still due to snow and the coldest December in 30 years!

I think it's the best specified unit for this money that is currently available. (Posted on 10/12/2010)

I fitted a DRF4 to my system almost 9 months ago, I also fitted one for a neighbour. They are very versatile in the way that they are not static like wired ones, they can be taken into any room in the house, thus enabling full control of your heating system. A must for the person who is tight with their purse strings. Also this company are extremely customer friendly. Don't go anywhere else
