component information

Thermsaver make every effort to ensure that the information given on this page is accurate, however this information may change as a result of continuing product research and development.

Further information is available by clicking on any of the system component images or sub headings below, this will be viewed in a new floating window.

central air unit and heat exchanger

Both units are available with a DC power option offering reduced running costs with increased longevity and reliability.

An example of the RegaVent HRV Central Unit and Heat Exchanger
system 325l
Designed primarily for loft installation, the 325 air handling unit is suitable for 1 to 5 bedroom homes. With a ventilation rate of 325m3/h the 325 will provide ventilation for a floor area of 200m2.
system 650l
The exceptional air movement of the 650L makes it the only choice for use in very large homes or commercial premises, up to 400m2. Designed primarily for loft mounting the 650 may also be installed within other locations inside the habitable area.
Up to four preset speeds are available giving air change volumes from 250m3 to 680m3.
This wide range allows the air movement to be selected to suit the occupancy - with the potential for trickle ventilation when the home is unoccupied to a high level of boost for periods of exceptionally high occupancy.

The performance curves for the Air Handling Units are here in the form of a graph.

The heat exchanger is of counter flow design, a layout calculated to give the highest level of efficiency. In excess of 75% of the available heat is extracted from the stale air and transferred to the incoming fresh air. The heat exchanger requires no maintenance under normal operating conditions but may be removed for cleaning if necessary.

regavent hrv controls

The RegaVent HRV controlsAll RegaVent HRV systems include two conveniently located fully variable speed controls. This allows the isolation of the heat recovery fan during the summer if required.

An optional in-line humidistat, sited in the ducting, is available which will automatically adjust the extract fan to boost when moisture levels increase.

air distribution

RegaVent HRV flexible ductingFlexible ducts are made of corrugated aluminium, with 15 mins fire resistance when tested to BS476 Part 8.

Pre-insulated acoustic ducting giving increased heat recovery and even greater noise reduction is available.

Duct sizes are 63mm, 100mm, 125mm and 160mm.

grilles & filters

The grilles used by the RegaVent HRV systemThe inlet and outlet grilles are manufactured in plastic, with washable and flexible filters.

As you can see from the picture, the internal grilles are small, neat and unobtrusive, with easily removable cover for cleaning the filters.

There is now a new ceiling air grille available with in built low voltage lighting as an optional extra.

air change capacity

The Electricity Council have set the standard Performance Specification for Mechanical Ventilation Systems with Heat Recovery at 0.5 air changes per hour. This is a level of ventilation already proven in Sweden and Canada, where controlled ventilation has been much more widely installed.

The RegaVent system is easily capable of meeting this requirement.
