"As you are aware we installed a Heat Recovery Ventilation System in our Nethan Valley Home over 7 years ago, (1991). Since then the system has worked continuously extracting from our kitchens and bathrooms while introducing fresh pre-warmed air into the living and bedroom areas. We lived with this clean fresh environment within our home until an electrical problem recently stopped the system from running, (1998). At this time we realised the full benefits of the system because the house started to show signs of condensation and stuffy smells. .......

"This is a question posed daily to a dentist. He may be faced with a tooth that is broken down and beyond repair. In many cases the only option is to extract!
I was posed with this question in a slightly different context when setting up my own dental practice in Carmyle, Glasgow.
My objective was to produce a pleasant working environment for myself; after all I have to spend a large proportion of my time there. The staff also appreciate pleasant working conditions, as do patients.
A ventilation system of some sort seemed the obvious answer. Investigation showed a range in prices and capabilities from ventilation of a single room such as a toilet, to whole house ventilation.
The option of heat recovery ventilation with an element of air-conditioning became a possibility. A visit to the Homebuilding and Renovation Exhibition in Ingliston and discussion with Rega and their agents Thermsaver helped me make the decision.
The dental surgery is a harsh environment to work in. It becomes hot and stuffy as patients come and go. The high speed drill produces a contaminated aerosol into the atmosphere. The sterilizer produces heat and steam. We mix amalgam and use harsh disinfectants. These factors, together with working behind a mask and goggles, can make the day like working in London smog! The windows run with condensation and we become hot and bothered. In the summer conditions are worsened by the increase in temperature outside.
My heat recovery ventilation system with air conditioning, designed by Thermsaver to my specifications, keeps the surgery environment constant and provides continual clean air whilst removing nasties from the environment. Heat is extracted from the extract air and used to heat clean fresh air. The system can be controlled such that when a certain temperature is reached the air-con kicks in and provides some extra cooling.
Patients have already commented on the pleasant environment.

"We had to write and tell you how delighted we are with the recovery ventilation system recently installed by your company.
Since moving into our semi-bungalow we have been plagued with condensation problems, walls, furniture and clothing suffering from mildew. The black mould and musty smell disappeared almost immediately after the installation of the system.
