Central Air Unit And Heat Exchanger - Dantherm

Dantherm hrv heat exchanger

  • * Demand-controlled ventilation with integrated humidity sensor.
  • * High efficiency – up to 80%.
  • * Approved by Passivhaus.-Main European standard.
  • * EC motors with extremely low energy consumption (low SFP).
  • * Installation-friendly solution with adjustment of air volumes directly on the unit.
  • * The HCV models fit into a 60x60 cupboard.
  • * High insulation levels
  • * The unit incorporates a counter flow heat exchanger.

This wide range allows the air movement to be selected to suit the occupancy - with the potential for trickle ventilation when the home is unoccupied to a high level of boost for periods of exceptionally high occupancy. Models are available for house sizes up to 450sqm.

Dantherm hrv air flow

  • * Continuous roll of material.
  • * Improved Heat Recovery efficiency.
  • * Easily maintained.

The heat exchanger is of counter flow design, a layout calculated to give the highest level of efficiency. In excess of 75% of the available heat is extracted from the stale air and transferred to the incoming fresh air. The heat exchanger requires no maintenance under normal operating conditions but may be removed for cleaning if necessary.

System Controls

The remote control communicates the respective ventilation needs of the house to the ventilation unit, thus securing optimum comfort, a healthy indoor environment and a favourable operating economy. The Dantherm HRC 2 remote control is easy to use and pre-programmed to fit the activity levels of the household, to ensure that the ventilation unit generates the exact amount of clean indoor air needed at all times.

The Regavent heat recovery ventilation system controls

  • * Wireless operation and adjustment.
  • * Battery-powered remote control.
  • * User-friendly and installer menu.
  • * Demand controlled.
  • * Control unit providing comfort and economy.
  • * Individual demands and needs of the user.
  • * Programme designed to prevent allergens.

Air Distribution

The flexible ducting used in the thermsaver heat recovery ventilation system

Flexible ducts are made of corrugated aluminium, with 15 mins fire resistance when tested to BS476 Part 8.

Pre-insulated acoustic ducting giving increased heat recovery and even greater noise reduction is available.

Duct sizes are 63mm, 100mm, 125mm and 160mm.

Grilles And Filters

The grilles used by the Thermsaver heat recovery ventilation system

The inlet and outlet grilles are manufactured in plastic, with washable and flexible filters.

As you can see from the picture, the internal grilles are small, neat and unobtrusive, with easily removable cover for cleaning the filters.

There is now a new ceiling air grille available with in built low voltage lighting as an optional extra.

Air Change Capacity

The Electricity Council have set the standard Performance Specification for Mechanical Ventilation Systems with Heat Recovery at 0.5 air changes per hour. This is a level of ventilation already proven in Sweden and Canada, where controlled ventilation has been much more widely installed.

The Thermsaver system is easily capable of meeting this requirement.
